Gangneung Noodle Festival (강릉 국수 축제)

Gangneung is a city of noodles, loved for jang-kalguksu (spicy knife-cut noodles), makguksu (buckwheat noodles), jjamppong and potato-dumpling noodle soup, and this is its signature food festival. Known as the Gangneung Noodle Festival (formerly “Gangneung Noodle Festa”) until 2025, it was renamed for its 5th edition in 2026 to feel more familiar and local. From October 15 to 18, Wolhwa Street hosts a food zone with all kinds of Gangneung noodles, from famous restaurants to hidden alley spots, plus exhibitions, hands-on activities, contests and cooking shows.
