Held every October since 2008 at Songdo Beach, Korea’s first public beach, near the Songdo Cloud Bridge, Skywalk and Marine Cable Car. Busan handles most of Korea’s mackerel catch and trade, and this festival celebrates the “nation’s fish” with food, culture and tourism. Signature programs include a visit to the Busan Cooperative Fish Market, catching mackerel by hand, a surprise mackerel auction, finding mackerel by kayak, a paper-boat race, a seafood direct market and a mackerel food court.
